How do I get Global Entry?

The card lasts for 5 years.

Does Global Entry include TSA Precheck?

  • TSA Precheck is free when you join Global Entry.
  • You can start using the prescreening lanes as soon as you are approved for Global Travel.
  • All you have to do is add your global PASSID number to the field labeled ‘Known Traveler Number’ when you book a flight from a US airport.
  • When you check-in, TSA Pre will be visible on your ticket and you can proceed straight to the TSA lane to fast track through security.

  • There is no need to take off jackets, shoes, or belts and you don’t have to get laptops and liquid bags out of your carry-on luggage.

What documents do i need for Global Entry interview?

  • Your interview invitation letter will detail all of the documents you must bring to the interview. Take the letter with you to the interview.

  • All applicants must have a valid passport book. You cannot join the program if you only have a passport card,

  • If you’re a permanent resident you will need to bring your PR card and proof of your citizenship.
  • You will need proof of your residential address e.g. a rental contract, ownership deeds, or mortgage statement.

  • Your driver's license if it was listed on your application.

How long does it take for Global Entry application to be approved?

  • Your application will be submitted for government background and security checks within 24 hours, providing that all data is complete
  • Then it will be ‘Pending Review’ until security checks have been completed. This can take 3-6 months.

  • When you’re ‘Conditionally Approved’, you must attend a 30-minute interview. Availability varies greatly between enrollment centers.
  • If you’re ‘Approved’ at your interview, you will receive your Global Pass in the mail within 10-14 days.

Is Global Entry still available?
